Without a breath, Cronus lays in the wake of a cloud, motionless. The mist does not blur his vision and so he fears it will not cover him, yet he stays still. A sweet breeze passes by but he does not savor it. With unblinking eyes, he just waits. Day passes into night as the sun bursts into its great goodbye but Cronus pays no attention. Just as he thought this might not be as easy as he had thought, something stirred in the distance. Was it time or could it be his eyes playing tricks? Feeling his heart in his throat he held fast and leaned toward his toes.
A long time passed before he could tell what was coming but he was patient. A figure formed, like the wind from quiet sky. Just then he noticed it was his father (Uranus) and he knew that all this time would not go to waste. The moon was dim but gave him enough light to see and enough shadow to hide. His father glided through the open sky, smug and confident, but without a clue.
As his father passed, so close he could smell his childhood, he turned toward Cronus, but before he could lay his eyes on his son, Cronus leapt. In one swift motion, cutting through the mist from the shadow, Cronus struck his father. As Cronus pushed his spear into Uranus's neck, silence fell upon them.
Cronus slowly pulled the spear from Uranus; his blood poured, to the earth below. From this poor sprang forth Giants and the Erinyes (or Furies). The Erinyes looked at Cronus and vowed vengeance before fleeing his grasp. It was at this time Gaea, mother earth, stood before him.
Gaea thanked Cronus for releasing the world from Uranus's rule and told him a prophecy to warn him. "One day when all seems well your rule shall come to an end much like your father's. Nothing you do will stop this but you will be reborn." This prophecy ruled over Cronus for the millennia to come.

While in power Cronus created man. This brought about the best time of man. "The Golden Age". It was an age of perfection, of innocence and happiness, in which truth and justice prevailed because man was good-natured. Labor was non-existent due to the fact that the earth gave freely all of man's necessities. War did not exist because there was nothing to fight for, everything man needed, he had. Spring bloomed all year round, for harsh weather didn't exist. Wine and milk lined streams and honey flowed from trees. Death, when it came, was unlike death as we know it today. Men would be transformed into spirits to watch over men, guarding and guiding them. The golden age of man was glorious until Zeus's reign of power.

Northern Spirits of Earth

Western Sirits of the Waters

During the great battle of the Titans, Cronus recalled the prophecy Gaea revealed to him. "One day when all seems well your rule shall come to an end much like your father's. Nothing you do will stop this but you will be reborn." Knowing this he looked to man his most blessed creation. He took the Spirit of the Heavens, of the Earth, of the Fires, and the Waters and gave them to man. With this they could live on to protect themselves, but they could not hold them. Soon Cronus found a way. He sought out four men from around the land they were to be their protectors. Looking to the north he found a strong man the size of the biggest boulders around. Then let the spirits of mother earth empower him. He then looked south, finding that it was getting cold when it used to be warm. He stumbled upon a boy freezing without any clothes. He told the boy not to worry and let the spirits of fire warm him. Now he went east until the edge of the earth fell off a cliff. Here he found a hunter. Cronus watched him kill for food where as before this was not needed. He saw strength in the man so he let the spirit of the winds go. The spirits were too much for the man and blew him from the cliff, only to catch and save him. Traveling to the west Cronus saw many hardships of man but knew they could prevail. In the western waters he saw the oceans boiling and steaming with strife. Only one sail was on the seas. The captain was fierce and stubborn. When Cronus came upon him he released the spirits of the water and saw them bring the oceans to a fury, sinking the ship. A moment after the captain was the only one to surface. This was the birth of the Thayaeodins and their army.
As time passed they found each other and united to find their father Cronus.
